Moralez: “En enero tengo que presentarme en Rusia para hacer la pretemporada”
By: Frank | November 12th, 2008According to a report in Olé, Maxi Moralez will be heading back to FC Moscow at the end of the Apertura. His reasoning is that his loan will be up at Racing and he has an obligation to return to Russia for preseason training. Hopefully, management at Racing will do all they can to try and sign El Enano permanently, but sadly, I don’t see it happening. He basically goes on to say that he’s not distracted by his contract situation and only cares about winning now and playing up to his ability at Racing.
This will obviously be a huge blow to Racing for the Clausura. Moralez has easily been one of, if not the most infulential player for Racing this season, and it’s always difficult for any team to lose its talisman and continue to succeed. Maxi also denied knowing anything about a possible move to River Plate, but if he moves anywhere, it will be back to Europe. The reality is, this is the business of Argentine football; players are always being shipped out to Europe, and the transfer fees ultimately keep the clubs going financially. It’ll be curious to see who will eventually step in; will it be someone from the youth set up or will Racing try to buy a replacement?

Sorry I missed the first few entries, but I have been otherwise busy and not able to update my section with any frequency whatsoever. In fact, I couldn’t attend the most recent Racing-Argentinos match because that was the night I got married (9:15 pm kickoff, 9:00 pm entrance of bride…and believe me, we tried to concoct many scenarios to make it work). Anyway, your boys look good. However, the second goal from Saturday night must be mentioned in your next post. Poor Migliore…

Scott- congratulations on the wedding. Good to see you back.
Frank, losing Maxi is gonna hurt. Maybe they can keep him for the clausura.
